Rank Markings - Officers, Since 1971

The following set of rank markings were introduced in September 1971 and are still worn today.  The rank of Brigadier General was only introduced in the mid 1970's.  Note the quality of the rank marking for the Brigadier General.  What was produced was a poor variation of the General's rank marking.  Worse still, it was accepted, and for many years was worn by officers of Generals rank.  On the instruction of one particular Chief-of-Staff, the original design was later reintroduced.
