UNIFIL - Irish / Finnish  Battalion  - 2006

The Irish returned to UNIFIL (unit level) on the 31 October 2006 with the 34th Infantry Group.  The roll being fulfilled is different than on the previous UNIFIL service,  they worked alongside a Finnish engineer company and both made up a joint Irish-Finnish Battalion.

Unit badge worn by all personnel size is 55mm  x  62mm.  Designer Finnish,  colour is the Finn Engineer colours.

HQ / Logs badge is official and worn by Finnish personnel for some reason it is not worn by the Irish personnel working in the HQ / Logs areas until near the end of the tour.     Badge size is 55mm x 60mm with a velcro backing.

Workshop platoon badge is official and worn by Finnish personnel it was not worn by the Irish personnel working in the workshop until near the end of the mission.
